HISTORY OF BOCF

Burnt Oak Christian Fellowship began in the 1930s after some families moved from Wales to London. As members of the Apostolic Church, they decided to start a church in Burnt Oak. Originally they met in a rented Club off Watling Avenue, then built a church on the site where we are presently located in Oakleigh Avenue.

The Church is led by the Pastor and a leadership team of Elders. We also have a wider leadership team made up from the leaders of our various ministries. Many have moved from the Church into further areas of Christian ministry in the UK and throughout the world. During the last ten years we have experienced a period of growth and transition. We are now a multicultural group spanning all ages. What began as a Welsh assembly now comprises people from the following nations:

- Finland
- Ghana
- Ireland
- Italy
- Jamaica
- Japan
- Nigeria
- Pakistan
- St Lucia
- Scotland
- Sierra Leone
- Togo
- Trinidad and Tobago
- Wales

BOCF is a member of the Apostolic Church in the UK & Eire. The church is alternatively referred to as Edgware Apostolic Church or the Edgware Assembly and is the headquarters of the Edgware District. In the past, other churches in the district were in Hayes and Welwyn Garden City. BOCF belongs to the London Region headed by a Regional Apostle. This Region covers churches in London, Bedfordshire, Essex, Kent, Dorset and Sussex.

OUR PURPOSE:

To make Jesus Christ known to the communities of Burnt Oak, so that people might find fullness of life, in readiness for His return.

OUR MISSION:

To actively demonstrate God’s love to our communities, which He first showed to us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

OUR VISION:

To build BOCF into a community of people who are in a loving relationship with the Father, disciples of Jesus Christ and who are continually filled with the Holy Spirit.
